Safeguarding concerns can take many forms, including physical, psychological, financial or domestic abuse, neglect and exploitation. Signs that someone may need support can include changes in behaviour, mental health concerns, financial difficulties, visible injuries, substance misuse or relationship problems.
All our customer facing colleagues receive safeguarding training so they can recognise concerns and raise them with the appropriate agencies. However, everyone has a role to play in keeping our communities safe.
If you’re concerned about someone’s safety or wellbeing, you should contact your local authority’s safeguarding team. You don’t need proof that abuse or neglect is taking place to raise a concern.
If someone is in immediate danger, always call 999. Additional support is also available through organisations including the NSPCC and Childline.
